Fazenda São José has been family owned and operated for over three generations. The Barbosa’s maintain extremely high standards for their crops, are committed to sustainability and showcasing the terroir of their region through meticulous coffee production.
This natural processed lot of Mundo Novo–a natural hybrid of Typica and Bourbon that thrives in Brazil–was produced by Dr. Maeve Freitas who is also Rheumatologist and Medical School professor. Maeve is responsible for tracking farm processes, finding safe and sustainable best practices and overall increasing the quality and productivity. Needless to say, Maeve is a remarkable talent inside and outside of specialty coffee.
São José is a very smooth cup with low acidity and a classic profile. For Brazilian coffee lovers, this is just what the doctor ordered.
